Reviews and Ratings
Staying at the lodge was an absolute delight. The rooms were cozy and surrounded by amazing gardens with a boating lake. The service was top-notch, provided by a team from different places, each bringing their unique charm. The location was superb, offering a sumptuous setting with roaring fires and big cushions. The dining experience was enjoyable, especially the bar for lunch. The facilities were impeccable, making my stay truly relaxing.
The hotel is a beautiful family-run establishment showcasing a high standard of passion in hospitality. The spacious and comfortable room was adorned with beautiful antiques and offered lovely lake views, though lacking a table of any height. The service from the Halpin hotel staff was truly excellent, a credit to the establishment, albeit finishing the stay on a slightly bitter note. The location, though overlooking stunning gardens, could be noisy due to nearby traffic and lacked the expected Michelin star quality in the dining offering. Overall, my stay in the 'Crinkle Craggs' Garden Suite was a relaxing experience with fantastic attention to detail.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The location was beautiful with rolling green hills and lakes, but the noise from passing cars near the gravel drive was a downside. The rooms were not fully equipped for extreme temperatures, lacking air conditioning, and showing signs of wear and tear like a rip in the bedding. The dining experience was exceptional with a variety of freshly cooked dishes, but the service, while friendly, had some hiccups such as a limited wine selection. Overall, it was a mix of highs and lows.
